THAILAND’S Amy Phalajivin begins the defense of her ICTSI Splendido Ladies Invitational title on Wednesday at Splendido Taal Golf Club in Tagaytay.

Phalajivin put on a strong finishing kick to rule this event last year for her first title on the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour.

But she groped for form in the kickoff leg of the 2015 circuit, finishing way down in joint 44th in last month’s ICTSI Ladies Open at Southlinks featuring Taiwan LPGA Tour campaigners.

Cyna Rodriguez, who topped the money list for two straight years, is also seeing action along with Jayvie Agojo, Chihiro Ikeda, Lovelynn Guioguio, Sarah Ababa and Anya Tanpinco.

Korean Oh Yeji and Britain’s Sarah Henderson have also signed up for the 54-hole tournament which is also expected to lure six more players from Thailand.

Yuka Saso heads the amateurs vying in the event, including Koreans Kim So Un, Hwang Min Jeong, Park Hyo Jin and Koh Eu Na, and local bets Annika Cedo and Sam Green.

Last year, Phalajivin, one shot behind Rodriguez and Saso after 36 holes, snatched the lead early with a birdie from the fringe on No. 2 then padded it to four at the turn with superb putting and iron play en route to victory.
